Summary:
“When Gerard signed the admissions paperwork for the Fordhaven School for Boys, he knew he was signing up for four years of sexual frustration. No one was gay at Fordhaven. Gerard was all-too-aware that he would be a virgin until he graduated. In his senior year, though, this stupid gay freshman disproves Fordhaven's straightness, and throws Gerard's entire world off-kilter.

“Now, in between drawing, avoiding bullies, running an incredibly serious tabletop RP game, failing out of math, and hanging out with friends, Gerard is also busy kind of falling for this asshole who's way too young for him. It's not what he planned on, but it's what's happening. In conclusion: high school sucks.”

Review:
Generally speaking I’m not very fond of high school AUs. The authors generally fall into one of two categories: still in/just out of high school and not yet developed as authors, or, so far from high school they can’t remember what it was like to be that age. Thankfully this story is written by a fantastic author who either really remembers or else is able to extrapolate what high school was like.

Gerard is so adorably awkward in this, just like any high schooler truly is. His relationship with Frank is full of the angst and sweetness high school romance is made of. Gerard’s relationship with Mikey in this is absolutely perfect. Their morning grumbles make me laugh out loud every time I read them.
