Title: Future Legends
Fandom: American Idol
Pairing: Adam Lambert/Kris Allen
Categories: AU, Angst,Drama, Future Romance
Length: Epic (58,400)
Warnings: Apocalypse, Violence, Past Character Death

Summary: The late summer sun is high over the base today, hot and intense. Kris tilts his face up and closes his eyes, pretending the hunters got fresh meat today, and that there are rain clouds on the horizon that'll sift cool, clear water down on all their sweaty heads. Everybody has their happy place these days, but Kris tries to make his attainable. There's no point in wishing the last five years never happened, because they did.

Review: This is an amazing Apocalypse AU. Winterlive's description are vivid, every detail adds to the feel of the world she created.

She didn't just create a disaster, she created an entire world that grew up in the wake of the apocalypse. Clans and strongholds built in the ruin of our current world, with just enough detail to give you glimpses of the way the world looked before everything ended.

Characterization-wise everybody is just a little bit darker, wilder, and edgier than they are in canon. Which helps them fit in with the bleak, if hopeful surroundings.  This is definitely a great read even if you don't usually read American Idol fic, since it can basically stand on it's own.

Building a Home by impulsiveanswer (PG)

Title: Building a Home
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner/Spencer Reid
Categories: Domestic, drama, established relationship, family, fluff, friendship, hurt/comfort, romance
Length: Long (~29,405 words)
Warnings: Fluffiness all around! <3

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] impulsiveanswer
Author Website: Impulsiveanswer's LJ

Author's Summary: Aaron and Jack move in with Spencer when renovations drive them out of their new house. Will it be a disaster…or a beginning?

Review: I finished this fic only a few moments ago since I am travelling and forgot to transfer my bookmarks. But still, I loved this fic.

What I loved most here is the beautifully written interactions between Jack and Spencer. The author has brilliantly shown the progression of Jack and Spencer's relationship, from skirting around each other to Spencer being Jack's other parent.

It's amazing how impulsiveanswer managed to use a common theme (Aaron's house is being renovated, Spencer asks them to move in) and make it into an extraordinary story. Jack, Spencer and Aaron are kept in character. The characters and the story itself is grounded and stayed true to its Criminal Minds roots while making it into a completely different story.

It was domestic fluff all around. <3 Much love to go around.
