Closing Doors by Caroline Crane (PG-13)

Forgive me for not posting last Friday. I've been having connection issues with LJ lately.

Title: Closing Doors by Caroline Crane
Fandom: Glee
Pairing: Kurt Hummel/Noah Puckerman
Categories: Friendship, Romance
Length: Medium
Warnings: n/a

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane

Review:
It starts with a warm cup of milk.

I don’t often read in the ‘Glee’ fandom – my last rec in it was well over a year ago – but even so, I never seem to have any trouble finding fics I enjoy when I do. Beginning just after Kurt transfers to Dalton, ‘Closing Doors’ isn’t the angst-filled fic that I was expecting. Instead, it’s a relatively lighthearted and sweet fic that focuses on building a friendship (and eventually a relationship) between Kurt and Puck without all the intensely tension-laden trappings of a normal episode.

Though admittedly this fic might seem a little dated now due to just how much has happened since Kurt transferred to Dalton, it’s still a great read that won’t bog you down with tons of Glee-styled angst.

Title: Disclosures
Fandom: Marvel
Pairing: Coulson/Clint
Categories: Amnesia, AU, Dark
Length: Epic (67,000)
Warnings: Scenes of Graphic Torture, Permanent Injury

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] gqgqqt
Website: gqgqqt's Ao3 page

Summary: Phil Coulson is miserable, distrusted by most of SHIELD, and still doesn't remember why.

It's only going to get worse before it gets better.

Review: The story starts out with Coulson not remembering what happened on his last mission. All he has to go on is balistic evidence that Hawkeye tried to kill him and the fact that everybody in Shield thinks he's about to go rouge.

With most characters that would be a sign that they need to start angsting and looking for answers. This incarnation of Coulson is just a little too crazy for that. Which is really what makes this story work.

Coulson is crazy enough to try and take on Loki single handed, and Clint is too crazy to stop him, and yet their relationship somehow remains believable through-out. Which is a real testiment to how well Gqgqqt knows their versions of the characters.
