Review:
It’s never good to fall for the captain of the football team.

There are so many reasons to read this fic – excellent characterization, a fun trope, and wonderful storytelling chief among them – but the number one reason for me is that it makes the characters work for the realistically happy, happy-ending. This, naturally, means there are as many lows as there are highs, as many bullies as there are friends, and as many heart wrenching moments are there are heartwarming ones, but luckily for all, this author is more than capable of pulling it off. It also doesn’t hurt there’s the whole ‘geek-dating-the-jock’ theme running throughout that just really works for these two.

Fair warning, however, to those assuming this will be like the fabulous but silly episodes of Big Wolf on Campus: it won’t be. The bullying and homophobia in this fic aren’t taken lightly and there are consequences for it, both real and imagined, and that takes a toll on all the characters involved, not just the bullies. This only enriches the story as far as I’m concerned but might be a tough read for those of you who are sensitive to it.

Summary: What if Tim had followed Jason to Ethiopia? Tim follows Jason to Ethiopia when he tries to find his mother. At a critical moment Tim acts to save his hero, changing everything as a result of that one moment of bravery.

Review: This is a new version of how Tim came to be one of the Bat Clan. It starts out in Ethiopia and spirals out from there. One of the things I like most about MeYaRi's writing is how it is very organic in it's growth. Everything makes sense in the narative and you never quite know where things are going to go even if you have hopes.

Tim is a sweety-pie in this one, and so is Dick. But Alfred, Jason, and the Ocs are just awesome. Their views on the bat family are amazing both in their falicies and in their insight.
