Review:
Julian's secret is discovered before the occupation of Bajor ends and he ends up practicing medicine on Terok Nor. There he meets Garak, who, as usual, is a much more complex character than he first appears to be.
"Exile" is one of the most intriguing AUs I've found in this fandom. Here the roles are reversed: Garak is still an official for his government, while Bashir has become the lonely outsider. Yet though Bashir is stripped from much of his naiveté present in the beginning of the series, the relationship he develops with Garak still retains a lot of the original dynamics that made it memorable in the first place. All in all, this is an original and very well written fic.
