Review:
The looong (over two years) shift in Harry and Severus's relationship from furious adversaries to tentativelovers allies.
The writing in this fic is sparse and a bit choppy, as the story is told in scenes and letters rather than with a traditional narrative style. While not usually a style that I like, it really works in this fic, especially in the way that it allows time to pass naturally. A Harry/Snape pairing is one that works best when it isn't rushed and Arsenic definitely takes her time.
I'm also quite impressed with the characterizations. Harry is quite good, but Snape is excellent: irascible and touchy to the very end, and yet realistically growing into a (slightly) more sympathetic character. As befits this characterization, the ending is left open, full of future possibilities (and, undoubtedly, future squabbles).
Ideal for those Harry Potter fans looking for a slight change of pace.

For a long time there's been a bet over who Allison would pick: Jack and Nathan. Then Henry adds a third choice to the page...
Awesome. Basically you have every person in Eureka's reaction to a possible Jack/Nathan pairing, each one neatly tying into an episode of the show. It's fluffy, it's funny, and it's guaranteed to make you smile.

Peter, Elizabeth, and Neal hook up, but there is a looong conversation first.
I dithered over this one for a long time, because the story does have major issues. The biggest one is that there is really three stories here: a 3,000 word sentence outline of the ten weeks leading up to the hook-up, followed by 30,000 words of talking before the hook-up, followed by 7,000 words of smut. The three parts really don't blend together very well, and I will admit that the 30,000 word conversation goes on about 5,000 words too long.
That said, each of the three stories has merit: the pre-conversation bit is sparse, but it does have some very lovely moments between Peter and Neal and does a great job of showing how comfortable the two have gotten with each other; the conversation (written before the 'Peter is not evil' reveal) presents an intriguing backstory for Peter and Neal and (to a lesser extent) Elizabeth, and also gives a fascinating look at an unconventional but exceedingly strong marriage that is completely permanent and yet flexible enough to encompass a third person; and the smut is, well, hot. Really, really hot. Frankly, I never thought a threesome could be this scorching.
In the end, the spot-on characterizations, the unique take on marriage, and the solid writing make up for the disjointedness of the story. Plus, the ending is guaranteed to make you smile.

After getting one very nasty voicemail from an exceedingly angry Frenchman named Toulour (who may or may not be canon), Rusty and Danny try to explain exactly whatthey did to the poor sap happened.
This is very much a farce and should be loved for what it is: sheer, unadulterated, and very entertaining nonsense. With brilliant banter (considerably better banter than what you get in canon, in fact). If you like mad cap adventures, innuendo with a helping of slashy speculation, and seeing Danny and Rusty getting asjuvenile drunk as two people can be, you'll get a kick out of this fic. Great fun.
(Apparently this fic is part of a series? I guess? It stands alone, though.)

Meet Team Misfit: Dr. John Sheppard, mathematician; Staff Seargent Rodney McKay, RCMP; and Dr. Carson Beckett, *not* the Chief Medical Officer. At least Laura Cadman's still a marine.
I find alternate team AUs to be rather hit or miss (mostly determined by how much I miss Teyla); fortunately this fic is a huge hit. Despite their different backgrounds, each member of the team is recognizably in character (even Rodney who has the most dramatic difference (not a lot of whining in the RCMP) but who still has his sharp tongue and even sharper mind). Other cast members who usually get short-shrift or outright bashed (*cough*Sumner*cough*) are also well done, and I loved Zelenka.
The plot is, well, not really a plot so much as a retelling of some of the big episodes from season one. It results in a choppy story, but it is interesting to see how major events from season one would change if John wasn't in charge and if canon!SGA-1 wasn't in charge of most of the missions.
If you like AUs that aren't too different from canon and/or are a fan of adventure stories, you should definitely give this fic a try.

While Mrs. Hudson is out of the house, Holmes decides to try his hand at cooking. Much to Watson's dismay, he gets roped into the disaster in the making.
This is, simply put, one of the funniest things I've ever read. From Holmes carefully applying the scientific method to the optimal cooking time for peas, to the unfortunate necessity of disemboweling the chicken, to Watson's increasingly desperate suggestions for alternate dining choices, every bit of this story is hilarious. Best of all, the writing style is spot-on; Wynde does a fantastic job of mimicking Doyle's dry, wordy prose. The end result is a story that could have come right out of the Strand and yet is guaranteed to make you laugh out loud at least once. Sheer brilliance.

Incacha decides that it's time for Sandburg to go to "Shaman School". Unfortunately, while Sandburg is away, he's replaced on the physical plane by a five-year-old version of himself. Cue Jim Ellison suddenly learning to be a father (Simon helps. A lot.) and Blair Sandburg learning to be a shaman (primarily by being a wiseass).
This series is just plain cute. Mini-Blair is adorable, parental!Jim nearly as much so, Simon kicks almighty ass, and Adult-Blair is both entertaining and resilient as he takes his lessons (though, fair warning, his lessons consist of: "Jim is way more important than you -- stop trying to pretend you have any life outside of him". Fortunately said lessons are a very, very small part of the story). If you're looking to be overwhelmed with cuteness, have any love at all for kid!fics, and/or love watching Simon being awesome, you'll definitely enjoy this fic.

Fortunately said lessons are a very, very small part of the story). If you're looking to be overwhelmed with cuteness, have any love at all for kid!fics, and/or love watching Simon being awesome, you'll definitely enjoy this fic.

Arthur and Merlin start repeating the same day over and over again. This leads to many things, including Arthur Finds Out, pillow fights, and battles with annoyingly cryptic dragons.
I love a good repeating time fic and this is an excellent one. You've got the mystery behind why time is repeating, Arthur being annoying but not evil, Merlin being Merlin, and Gauis disapproving of pretty much all of the above. An entertaining (and surprisingly plotty) bit of time-twisting fun.

Review:
A month before the black dogs are scheduled to drag him to hell, Dean Winchester is captured. By a seventy-year-old sheriff and an ancient basset hound. Now the BAU is tasked with figuring out if Dean actually is the overachieving serial killer Agent Hendrickson claimed he was and why exactly he let himself get caught.
I absolutely adore plausible, realistic crossovers and this series is one of the most natural, seamless (if unexpected) crossovers I've ever read. Dean interacting with the BAU (of the Gideon era) is in turns hilarious, intriguing, and touching and seeing Dean, with all of his issues and secrets, getting profiled by objective (but increasingly sympathetic) experts is both fascinating and deeply satisfying.
Of course, a good premise isn't enough to carry a story on its own, so I'm happy to state that the plot and writing are both layered and interesting. Best of all, however, is the characterizations. With a cast that's nearly in the double digits, it's nothing short of amazing that Kikkimax managed to not only fully integrate all of the major characters from both shows, but to nail every single characterization. You can *hear* the characters voices as they talk and their behavior is all perfectly in character.
A long, meaty, deeply satisfying crossover, I highly recommend these fics for anyone who is a fan of either Supernatural or Criminal Minds (or both!)
