And Batman (so awesome that he deserves his own exclamation point)! It's a situation that lends itself well to Harelquin plots (as the writers at DC Comics are clearly aware) and this fic is one big old bundle of awesomeness. You have sneaky Lex outwitting the aliens. The aliens themselves, who are unique and quite interesting. And, of course, the Justice League, including some members who don't usually get much face time (Hawkgirl) as well as a few other DC characters brought in to intelligently wrap up the plot. In fact, I think my favorite part of this fic might be Vivian Darkbloom's obvious familiarity with DC canon, which gives the first half of this fic a lot more canonical depth than you usually see in Smallville fics.
The latter half of the fic isn't quite as good, as the romance aspect is skimmed over to get to an extended sex scene (though that might be a bonus for some readers), but the first half of the fic is more than good enough to be recced all on its own.
