Title: Into This World Again
Fandom: SGA
Pairing: John/Rodney
Category: AU, angst
Length: long
Warnings: none

Author's Summary: Rodney returns home, and John finds things aren't the same.

Review:
Written for the 2008 mcshep_match. Into This World Again has a very similar premise to the Star Trek Voyager story Borrowed Lives, which was recced last week, but in this story, our characters make some very different choices.

Due to a teleporter error, Rodney is accidentally dropped off in a alternate universe where he is dead, Jeannie is not married, all the people that died on Atlantis is alive, and John is a gay mathematician. The story of Rodney in the alternate universe is told in parallel to the events after Rodney returns to his own universe, where Rodney has to deal with the consequences-->angst, emotional pain, etc., but trust me, it all ends well. Nobody dies and everyone finds love (well, sort of, in a ambiguous, non-optimal way). I wish I could tell you more, but another word just might spoil the story. All I can say is that the characterization is superb, especially John, both the military John from Atlantis and the other one, who, according to Rodney, smiles a lot more.

Now go read, vote, and review. :)
