Review:
Coming back to Earth soon after a particularly horrific off-world mission, John and Rodney are ordered to take a couple weeks leave. They end up spending the time with John's parents, quietly healing each other and discovering a whole new facet to their relationship.

Most fic (including mine, I have to admit) paints John's parents (read: dad) as cold and uncaring. Chelle goes a different direction in this story, and it really pays off. John's parents are lovely, wonderful people, but they're also very liberal and they have a hard time accepting that John is in the military. This adds a delicious low-level tension that blends in with John and Rodney's personal demons to create quiet, realistic conflict underscored by open, unconditional love. A sweet, gentle fic, perfect for a quiet afternoon read.

Reader's Rec -- Humor

I've been reccing a *lot* of angst lately, so I'd love to get some suggestions for humorous fic to rec.

Things to keep in mind:
-Recced stories can be any length, any fandom, and any pairing, as long as they fit the theme
-You don't need to write a review (unless you want to).  All that you need to include are title, author, and link to the story (all parts if there are more than one).

That said, have at it!

Today's Topic: Humor

Previous Topics:
Genres:
-Marriage of Convenience
-Harleqin AUs
-Homeless!fic

Fandoms:
-Long Due South AUs
-Crime Procedurals (anyone posting Bones (Boothe/Bones) or Monk (Stottlemeyer/Disher) fic gets a rec in any fandom of their choice, even if I have to acquaint myself with the fandom first)
-Due South fic (F/V would be a bonus, as I haven't read any before)
