Author's Summary: When faith and obligation meet the renewal of old sins, two Mormon missionaries must decide if it’s worth losing everything they’ve ever known for a chance at love.
Review:
The premise of God Loveth His Children shares similar elements with the movie Latter Days, except now there are two Mormon Missionaries instead of just one.
The plot is common amongst gay-themed movies and books -- two people fall in love, their families interfere (usually due to religious reasons), but they ultimately find strength in each other and reunite (or one of them dies, depends on the movie/book). *I'll make one thing clear right now: no one dies in God Loveth His Children.*
I enjoyed this story more than many similarly-themed stories because of how well the author handled the emotional baggage Elders Padalecki and Ackles each carried, the conflict between their mind and their heart, and especially Jared's flashbacks from his previous "battle with same-sex attraction" and how that affect his actions and choices. Also, any story that features a not-a-douchbag yet still permanently stoned Chad is made of win.
