There are a great many beautiful vids out there. These are the best. Everything done by lim is just gorgeous. These happen to be my favorites though. (You can access all of her vids at the master list. There's a comprehensive index on the right.)

for merlin, my alltime fav vidder:

I mean, lol, tbh, I feel the Merlin show to be even worse and cheesier than SV, but what this vidder made out of the material just given from Merlin season 1???

nothing short of brilliant, I would pay to watch such a arthur movie:
Title: Red
http://obsessive24.livejournal.com/241101.html
Artist: Elbow
Creator: [info]obsessive24
Characters/Pairing: Arthur character, Arthur/Merlin.
Spoilers: Series 1
Format: XviD AVI, WMV, streaming
Size:: 45.63MB, 30.71MB
Length: 3:37 minutes
Summary: "You burn too bright."

Reason for Reccing: This character vid is hands down, *the* best Arthur character vid in the entire fandom.
Its awesome, it did burn into my heart, and it breaks my heart every single time I rewatch, and trust me, if I did managed it into my schedule, I have watched this vid since the first time she announced it on LJ, like every single evening.
Every single Arthur character vid, I have watched since then, and that I plan to watch in the future, will have to be measured against this one.
And so far, there is no competition in sight. The song she had chosen will forever be tied in my mind with Arthur.

for an extensive and gorgeous and brilliant vid rec commentary by another fan, with screencaps and all, this way:

Title: 2 Atoms in a Molecule
Musical Artist: Noah & The Whales
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Warnings: n/a

Vidder on LJ: http://zoetrope.livejournal.com/
Master List Link: http://zoetrope.talkoncorners.net/fanfic.htm
Link: http://zoetrope.talkoncorners.net/twoatoms.htm

Review: My favorite kind of vid. Zoetrope create a moving collage of art, text and cut-out clips from the series, perfectly set to a fun, quirky song. Totally awesome.

Title: Missed the Saturday Dance trailer
Musical Artist: (Ev'rything Depends On You by Mildred Bailey)
Fandom: Stargate: Atlantis
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Warnings: n/a

Vidder on LJ: http://zoetrope.livejournal.com/
Master List Link: http://zoetrope.talkoncorners.net/fanfic.htm
Link: http://zoetrope.talkoncorners.net/mtsd/trailer.htm

Review: This one is a trailer for her WWII set AU fic, Missed the Saturday Dance. The artist used period footage, great music, and really well selected clips of the two actors in period appropriate clothing/settings. Only 1:05 minutes long, but fun.

Title: Expialidocious
Musical Artist: Fagottron / pogotracks
Fandom: Mary Poppins
Pairing: n/a
Warnings: n/a

Vidder on (not)LJ: http://pogotracks.blogspot.com/ or www.myspace.com/pogotracks
Master List Link: http://www.youtube.com/user/Fagottron#p/u
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Za-V_lhwGg&feature=channel

Review: Fagottron has taken snippets of sound from Mary Poppins, created a wholly original song, and created a music video of the Mary Poppins cast to accompany it. It's hypnotic and joyful, and I find myself listening to it over and over again sometimes. Fagottron's other vids on youtube are good [Scrudiddilyumptious (Willy Wonka), Mary's Magic (Secret Garden), and Alice (Alice in Wonderland) in particular], but I think this is his best work.

Title: THE ORIGINAL Scary 'Mary Poppins' Recut Trailer by moviemker / Chris Rule
Musical Artist: Contains the musical piece "A Violent Attack" composed by Caine Davidson for the film 'An American Haunting,' "Stay Awake" written by Richard and Robert Sherman for Disney's 'Mary Poppins.'
Fandom: Mary Poppins
Pairing: n/a
Warnings: creepy, taking harmless childhood movie and editing it to look scary.

Vidder on (not)LJ: http://www.myspace.com/singsweetnightenbetch
Master List Link: http://www.youtube.com/user/moviemker#p/u
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2T5_0AGdFic

Review: Kinda amusing take on Mary Poppins. 1:05 trailer of the horror movie “Scary Mary.”

Title: Closer by T. Jonesy and killa / killabeez
Musical Artist: Nine Inch Nails
Fandom: Star Trek: The Original Series
Pairing: Kirk/Spock
Warnings: rape, pon farr

Vidder on LJ: http://killabeez.livejournal.com/
Master List Link: ??
Link: http://blip.tv/file/2289542 OR http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uxTpyCdriY

Review: According to killabeez's livejournal: “Vids are no longer hosted online,” although you can still find it on youtube and elsewhere. So, is it wrong to rec? Not sure, but this thing stuck with me. The treatment of the footage, creating sepia-toned, scratched images is stangely compelling, and it goes really well with the song. But definitely don't watch if the warnings squick you!

Since I'm not posting this month, why not comment here?
Title: The Trial of Han Solo
Fandom: Star Wars (obvi)
Pairing: implied Han/Leia, but it's really gen
Warnings: spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the original films

Review: Who wouldn't want to see the trial of Han Solo, who is being prosecuted on that tricky issue of whether he or Greedo shot first? It's presented by a group of talented actors, and they definitely milked the situation for all the humor, legal and otherwise, that they could find. (Personally, my favorite part is hearing the court reporter read back the transcript.) The punchline is slow in coming, as the vid is almost 20 minutes long and an earlier joke dominates the first half of the vid, but it is completely worth waiting for. There is no original footage used, just some sound clips dubbed over action figures in "flashbacks". Still, the vidder-actors do their best to stay in character, and I didn't miss the footage.

I’m a vid addict, and after viewing hundreds, below are a few of the ones I can watch again and again. I'll be back later with a couple more...

Title: Zombie Jamboree (http://www.giandujakiss.com/index.php?set=videos&video=94)
Vidder: Gianduja Kiss [livejournal.com profile] giandujakiss
Musical Artist: Rockapella
Fandom: Various fandoms including (but not limited to): X-Files, BtVS, Highlander, Supernatural, Pushing Daisies, Doctor Who, Pirates of the Carribean…
Warnings: Um… dead people. Walking corpses. Dancing corpses!
Summary: For all that it’s about zombies, this is a totally upbeat vid.

Title: Uncommercial Song (http://www.alter-idem.com/#videos/26)
Vidder: lithiumdoll
Musical Artist: Oysterband
Fandom: Also various fandoms including (but not limited to): Firefly, Alien Nation, Roar, Miracles, Profit, Wonderfalls, Space: Above and Beyond…
Warnings: None
Summary: This vid is a tribute to shows cancelled before their times.

Title: Touched (http://humansrsuperior.livejournal.com/111317.html)(under the Doctor/Rose category)
Vidder: [livejournal.com profile] humansrsuperior
Musical Artist: VAST
Fandom: Doctor Who: Rose/Nine, Rose/Ten
Warnings: Spoilers through new series season two
Summary: Touched is a great song, but this vid doesn’t rely on the quality of the music to carry it… the visuals are equally as strong, and the two elements together illustrate a story of loss and seperation that might not be clear to someone unfamiliar with the story, but I’d suggest everyone give it a shot anyway. Admittedly, it’s a little depressing, but it’s just so damn well done that it hurts good.

Title: Leather (http http://tartanshell.livejournal.com/tag/vid:+star+wars)
Vidder: [livejournal.com profile] tartanshell
Musical Artist: Tori Amos
Fandom: Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
Warnings: Violence
Summary: This is an enjoyable romp through the movie, an overview of Anakin’s descent into Vader, and it makes me smile a little every time. That could be cause I’m a freak, or cause the music is contagious. Or both ;)

Last but not least, here are two from Bradcpu, and while his archive requires a password to access (http://www.bradcpu.com/videos.php), it’s gained through an automated email account, which takes seconds. I still haven’t seen them all, but my particular favorites at this point are:

Title: Living Dead Girl
Musical Artist: Rob Zombie
Fandom: BtVS
Warnings: Violence.
Summary: Faith-centric, action-heavy vid. Amazing editing without going overboard, fitting perfectly with the song. I’ve watched it over and over again, and it’s just a twisted sort of fun. Violent fun. That makes ya all warm and fuzzy inside. Well, me. Hmm…

Title: Vertigo
Song/Musical Artist: “Weapons of Mass Distortion” – Crystal Method
Fandom: House
Warnings: Depictions of illness and medical procedures, implications of rape
Summary: This vid is entirely visual, not really a story being told, no central character. It’s instrumental music and scenes, and it just works. Brilliantly. Requires no familiarity with House to appreciate, I believe.

Title: Whatcha Say // Sierra;Priya [Dollhouse]
Artist: Jason Derulo ft. Imogen Heap
Vidder: Ash
Length: 0:33
Spoilers: 2x04
Summary: "Oh, that you only meant well? Well, ofcourse you did.." ; Deal's with Sierra having to deal with her greatest fear, and how she got to this point
