Review:
After the war, the Malfoys lose everything. As the story begins Draco is working in a Muggle grocery store, Narcissa has died an early and unexpected death, and Lucius has lost much of his sanity. When Lucius disappears, Draco goes to great lengths to find him, only to find the missing Harry Potter instead. Unfortunately, Harry no longer seems to be quite human...

This is an absolutely magnificent Harry Potter version of Beauty and the Beast. Like all really good adaptations, it takes its inspiration and some plot from the source material, but it doesn't follow it slavishly. As a result, The Arc of the Pendulum full of wonder and suspense, and is utterly addictive. Beast!Harry is both adorable and still very Harry Potter, which isn't a combination I would have ever thought possible, but brummell pulls it off and does so with style. Draco is also brilliantly done: more stubborn than even he expected and determined not to be a victim, even though he's still learning to accept culpability for his own actions.

Long, well-written, and very entertaining, The Arc of the Pendulum is a must-read for anyone who likes fairy-tales and the idea of happily ever after.
