Review:
The heart of an elf prince longs to be whole, but a departed mother’s words and a broken gemstone are the only guides he has. His search takes him to an unlikely person in unlikely places.

Lately I’ve really wanted to read and recommend fan fiction that’s light and fluffy, without being bogged down with a plethora of angst, not matter how much I love angst. Guide to Completion was the perfect remedy for that. It’s fluffy and sweet, features both Legolas and Aragorn as (adorable) children, and follows Legolas’s journey to finding his true mate in life.

While the story itself isn’t complex and sometimes borders on being a little too soap opera-ish, the characters are equally endearing and the drama, when it comes, doesn’t overshadow the romance. Even the characterization, which isn’t spot on but still enjoyable, lends itself to being…well, sweet. This isn’t to say that this story is mindless, it isn’t, or that it doesn’t have a dose of angst, it does, especially as the story evolves. It’s just a simple story – one that doesn’t rely on intricacy to make it work – and manages to be lighter than our average fair around here.
