Summary: America inciting degeneracy in Germany via swing culture, in that wonderful awful decade, the 1930s. "Music's not something you're allowed to listen to, alright? It's something you make damn sure everybody else can hear."
Review: There is just not enough fic out there that lets Germany and America interact - and boy, this fic delivers on its premise. Melted Peep follows the introduction, rise, and fall of swing in Germany, and does so by having Alfred dog Ludwig's every move until he gives in and starts listening to his radio and his citizens. The eventual triumph of Goebbel's propaganda machine near the end is historically accurate, but still cuts to the quick - until you realize along with America that it's not over yet, and Germany can't just eliminate counterculture overnight. Extra points to the author for her attention to detail - Peep definitely did her work in figuring out the look and feel of the Swing-Jugend.
