Dragon’s Home, by Kracken (NC-17)

Okay, so there's a funny story behind this -- about five hours ago, I realized that there was no rec posted on Friday and e-mailed [personal profile] trace_by_echo  to find out what was up about that. No response. Then, five *minutes* ago, I found this e-mail that she sent me four days ago asking me to post her recs for her on Friday since she wouldn't be at a computer. And I said yes! And then totally forgot! Since, like, *Wednesday*. Gad. Is it possible to be senile before thirty?

So, sorry these are late (and, uh, [personal profile] trace_by_echo -- you can totally ignore that e-mail. *facepalm*)

Review:
After a Preventer mission, Heero and Duo ask Wu Fei to join them on a mini vacation by a lake, but he soon discovers that all is not what it seems between the two and that he has a totally unexpected role to play in saving their relationship.

This was a great take on what relationship dynamics can be like in a couple that’s becoming a threesome. Heero/Duo is the OTP, if the term can even be used in this fandom, for Gundam Wing, and the addition of Wu Fei brings this fic straight into Rare Pairing territory… but their interactions within the group have convinced me that this OTP is all the better for it. In some ways, they form a classic Id-Ego-Superego triad – but enough armchair psychology. This is just a lovely Wu Fei POV on what it’s like to help his friends with their relationship issues, all while being drawn into said relationship. The issues, such as they are, are serious and plausible, and one weeklong vacation isn’t enough to solve everything… but there’s plenty of reason to hope.

If you don’t like violence, or even just don’t want to leave the cabin-in-the-woods setting, the fic is mostly complete at the end of chapter nine. The remaining two chapters do have a mission, hurt/comfort, and sex for that matter, and it’s just as well-written as the rest, but it’s up to you! (I tend to think of those chapters as an unusually-long epilogue, myself.)
