Two for One by greensilver (PG)

So, err, another bonus rec? I'm sure no one really minds, though, and this one's short enough that I couldn't quite bear to make it a sole rec for the day.

Title: Two for One
Author: greensilver
Fandom: Merlin
Pairing: Gen (but implied Arthur/Merlin if you look closely)
Categories: Future fic, humor
Length: Medium (barely)
Warnings: none
Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] greensilver

Author’s Summary: "Yes, fine, there's a lady in the lake and she has your sword."

Review:
So this follows on what I mentioned in my last rec about adoring stories that show how elements of the Arthurian mythos could have come into the legend without actually making it actually compliant.

This time we get a BBC!Merlin explanation for BOTH origin stories for Excalibur: the Lady in the Lake and the Sword in the Stone. It's a flashfic, barely qualifying for medium length, but it's also humorous, clever, and entirely believable and in character.
