I've been sitting on some of these reviews since I started this community and they're demanding to be posted, so...

Smallville week at Epic Recs!

Review:
This is, by far, my favorite Smallville fanfic (unlike One Good Man for CSI, I'm not going to claim this is the *best* Smallville fic out there, because that would probably have to be A Handful of Dust, which I'm not reccing because my life is depressing enough lately, thanks). It centers around a character so cracky it's hard to believe he's actually canon (DC canon, that is): Kon, AKA Superboy, AKA the test tube child created from Lex and Clark's DNA. Yes, really.

I'm not sure how much of this actually follows DC canon, but in Reconcilable Differences, Kon has been brought up by Martha with an assist from Clark and a conspicious absence of Lex. All that changes, however, when Kon is paralyzed in a Teen Titans battle, and Lex decides it's time for him to step in and fix things (because, honestly, when you want something done right, you don't exactly turn to *Clark*).

Despite not knowing a thing about Kon, Tim Drake (the current Robin), the Teen Titans, or any other DC canon, I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It takes all the best from Smallville, adds some really entertaining bits from DC, seasons it with a dash of the Batman and other hilarious cameos and the end result is something really wonderful. Sweet but not cloying, surprisingly believable (Lex doesn't make his billions of dollars by building death rays, imagine that), and filled with likeable, yet fallible characters (yes, I even liked *Lois* and it's amazing how much Luthor there is in Superboy). Don't forget to read the dialogue box at the end -- it's the perfect ending to an amazing story.

Reconcilable Differences
Vacation (sequel to RD and a good story, but much more focused on Kon and Tim than on Lex and Clark so not quite my cup of tea)

This is one of my favourite stories!
Have you read "The Comfort of Adversity" by Kantayra and "Conflict of Interest" by rageprufrock? Both are told from Kon's POV. :) Maybe you can have a theme call Clex with kid(s).
