Hi! *waves* This is my first time posting a rec, or um. even commenting. But I've been watching this community for a while. I just wanted to point out The Dragon (http://www.852prospect.org/archive/archive/drama5/dragon.html) by Mairead Triste and Aristide, which a lot of people might have already read, since the authors are pretty well known. I'm not really shy about reading disturbing fic, but this is the only one I can remember ever really scaring me. It's in The Sentinel fandom, Jim/Blair, Adult.

It's really hard for me to read dark!fic--I now almost always avoid it. But one of my favorite SG-1 stories ever is Sinner's Grove (http://www.skeeter63.org/~soulcake/slash/grove.html) by Martha (saffronhouse). Jack/Daniel pre-slash. There's goa'uld possession, violence, and rape. There's aftermath and crushing guilt. But there's also steadfast loyalty, friendship, and a glimmer of hope. And, well, it's Martha, so you know it's good, and probably the most beautifully written of all her works.

If you want dark (and twisted) themes you should really give Mami-san a look, especially her later works. She's really big in the Weiss Kreuz fandom, so many might know her. But for those who don't, it's definitely worth a try.

Rec #1: Vaterunser (NC17). Dark and twisted. Very disturbing images & violence (the stuff that can give you nightmares. Which is entirely intended). This is a Schwarz fic. An ending without relief. About 155k words.

Rec#2: Schism (R). Major angst. Heavy depression & self-hurt for a character who's normally portrayed as very capable and chipper (Omi), but which makes perfect sense in this story. Character death (not Omi). An ending that brings some solution and relief in a hit-you-over-the-head-nothing's-ever-the-same-again sort of way. About 46k

Rec #3: Gunning Down Romance (PG13, maybe a touch higher). Past character deaths, some violence. Angst with major climaxes, but gradually overcome by a very reluctant romance. This story is my favorite. It had me sobbing outright in some places, but at least it offered an ending I could live with. Even though it wasn't perfect (not a "happily ever after", more a "they live after, but they keep struggling"). About 160k of words

Bonne and Von this duo wrote a number of dark series that are listed at the top of their page.

The Frozen Colony Series has Duo seeing demons and Wufei dating the not so dead.

The Classic Monster Series asks the question what if the Wolfman (Duo) and Frankenstein (Heero) got it on. It also has mummies, vampires, and a very messed up Zero system.

I don't think I will ever reread the first part (where the torture takes place); at least not in one go. It's too emotionally draining for me, but when I first read it I just couldn't stop.

Epic-length AU that eventually synchs back up with Torchwood canon (with several important differences). After the game station, Jack spends most of a century waiting for the Doctor to come and find him. The Master finds him instead. And when I say epic, I mean "over 1,000 pages long." Seriously, this is enough Jack!angst and h/c to equal the length of War and Peace.

Pretty dark for several long sections (torture, non-con, etc.) but there's a happy ending. Also the Doctor eventually appologizes to Jack really a lot for abandoning him, which is always good.
