Review:
What if the Federation's JAG department hadn't been so lenient about Julian's situation in the episode "Doctor Bashir, I Presume"? After the discovery of his genetic enhancements, Bashir starts to say goodbye to the life he knows and loves and finally has the courage to confront his feelings for Garak. Meanwhile, the DS9 officers are not prepared to give up so easily and run against time to find a solution that will allow them to keep their beloved Doctor.

Regann’s take on what is one of my favorite Trek episodes is very interesting and, as it has been pointed out, a much more plausible resolution for the genetic enhancements plot. Great characterization all around and a good development of the Garak/Bashir dynamic make this an excellent DS9 fic.

Going Native (part 1) (part 2).
