Review:
Breakfast with Scot was a charming little movie I saw a few years back. Recently I came across several fics for it, and really liked this one because it had the elements of the movie I enjoyed the most; friendship, family, awkwardness, and ultimately, love. There is a bit of a primer over here at smallfandomfest if you’re curious about the movie.

I really thought the author captured Scot and did a fabulous job with his characterization. Everything about the scene with Scot and Eric at the drugstore trying to buy “supplies” for Carla was fantastic. Scot’s outgoing personality, his impromptu concert, the description of the situation they found themselves in and his complete openness with strangers were wonderfully done and seemed to fit right in with movie canon. Eric’s awkwardness, embarrassment, yet ultimate love and affection for Scot was lovely and realistic and a perfect reflection of his character's growth and change.

Overall this is a wonderful, light slice of life fic.
