Summary:
Post-Changes AU. "Because," Dresden said, "you’re going to bring me back." He hesitated, looking somewhat sour. "You’re the only one who can, apparently."

Review:
I can't resist reccing another excellent ghost story for our theme week. This one has a much happier resolution than my last rec, though still bittersweet.

First of all, if you haven't read the twelfth Dresden Files Book, Changes, and you're adverse to major spoilers, this is not the fic (or rec) for you, so I've hidden some of the rec behind a cut. Following Harry's disappearance (and presumed death), Marcone is getting cryptic messages in the fogged up glass of his bathroom mirror. Meanwhile, he, Guard and Hendricks are investigating what happened to Harry, along with Mouse and Bob (with the help of Mister), who both track Marcone down.

Turns out Harry needs Marcone's help to bring him back.

Lightgetsin gives us a great Marcone POV, and fills out the story with many of the Dresden regular characters. I particularly liked her Mouse, especially through Marcone's eyes, and Bob voice, but she just *gets* all the characters. From the guts out to their voices, she has them nailed.

Like any good Dresden story, it's drama with a combination of a case-fic, humor, and some action thrown in. The relationship between Harry and John is awkward, intense, full of misunderstandings, in character, and I loved it. I actually like this resolution to Changes better than Ghost Story (shh, don't tell Jim Butcher); partially because I like the Dresden/Marcone ship, but also because its a tightly written story that dovetails well into the Dresden universe.
