Review:
Being dead in the land of living isn't what one might expect. Sirius discovers that some earthly ties are impossible to break, and there are consequences for flirting with Death.
Based post-canon with the epilogue largely ignored, Death on Two Legs is one of the many stories out there that pose the question of what exactly happened to Sirius Black after he died? The thing that makes it unique, however, is that fact that Sirius didn't fall into an alternate dimension, didn't suddenly find himself alive again, or any of the other fare that usually floats around in these types of fics. Instead, he's living an existence between life and death, and doing a job that most people steer clear from. Not that he gets much choice in the matter, but it beats being completely dead, right?
What I love about this story is that it could just as easily as happen in post-canon as not. In fact, there are a few aspects of it that can so easily be tied the last book that I'm surprised no one tried going this route before. While some may cringe at the pairing involved – which they shouldn't, at least not this time – this story still provides a compelling look at life after death for Sirius Black.
