Review: After I saw the film Inception, I knew that there was great potential for some really out-of-this-world fic. Presque Vu definitely hits that mark; it provides a gorgeous, long backstory to the film which fits perfectly (in my opinion) - I'm accepting it as my own personal canon prequel. I've read several pre-movie stories, but this is definitely my favorite. Two sides of dreaming - beautiful and luxuriant, and dark and dangerous - are both shown here with equal skill.

The Arthur/Eames pairing drew me in, but there is so much more to this story than Arthur/Eames slash. The relationships between Arthur, Mal, Dom and Eames, how they meet and come to be involved with shared dreaming, along with the rise and fall of all the characters and how they change over the course of the fic to become who they are in the movie, are fantastic. I absolutely love Mal in this, and her friendship with Arthur. In the movie, we only get to see one sliver of her being, but rageprufrock creates her in this story, carves out her life in a beautiful way.

Definitely worth reading if you're a fan of the movie, and especially if you'd like to read a possible prequel. There are some typos and grammatical errors, but not enough to detract from the quality of the story.
