Review:
Caldik Prime was inarguably a turning point in Tom’s life. “Parallel Lines” follows two possible outcomes from it: in one side, Tom lies about what happened and ends up joining the Maquis and is later sent to jail; on the other, Tom admits he is guilty and is not cashiered from Starfleet.

The fic is told, as the title might suggest, into parallel columns tied together by some interconnected paragraphs and key events (Tom being aboard Voyager, getting stranded on the Delta Quadrant and saving Chakotay on the Ocampan homeworld among them). While I’m really not a fan of this type of formatting, the interesting parallels that are presented and the beautiful writing style sold it to me completely. In the end, the format becomes an asset to the story, tying two great narratives in their own right and transforming them into an amazing fic.

Parallel Lines.

I'm not sure how to read this without getting a headache.

Yes, it can be a pain (I resorted to covering half of the screen with a piece of paper). If you'd rather read it in a more conventional format, here (http://www.sendspace.com/file/uwr6bx) is the story in a .doc file, first the half on the left, then the one on the right.
