ReviewWhen the Enterprise is asked to transport Vulcan colonists to their new home, Spock Prime comes with them. His presence changes everything – and leads to life-altering revelations for Jim and Spock. A story about growth, self-discovery, and new beginnings.

I think this may be the epic fic to come out for Reboot Kirk/Spock so far - there's Home, of course, but that's still a WIP.  Ragdoll has written this gripping story about Kirk and Spock coming together, slowly and with the assistance of Spock Prime, and she's really given the fandom a gift in it.  I liked the OC, a child Vulcan who is understandably traumatized and also unable to express it without help.  I loved how the mindmeld issue was addressed.  I really appreciated that Uhura and Spock's relationship was respectfully treated and not just brushed aside for the inevitable... I recently read a fic that was beautifully written, but 5/6ths of the way through Spock dismisses Uhura as "irrelevant", and I had to stop reading, I was so disgusted.  That's not just poor characterization, that's disrespectful.  Breaking Points never slips into any type of characterization trap, and so I have no qualms about reccing it to old and new fans alike.  (Fans of Kirk Prime/Spock Prime may be a little surprised, though - but I won't say any more.)

That sounds excellent. I already had the fic bookmarked to read, but this review has just raised the priority :)

Thanks for the rec!

I'm reading it right now and really enjoying it :)

BTW, are you aware that it's also on ff.net? Easier for people like Jane who don't like to read on LJ.

(Not sure if Jane even reads Star Trek, but might be useful for other people.)

Hrm... I wasn't going to officially rec it, but as long as you're prepared to get addicted to a WIP... here it is: {http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5071703/1/Home}. Enjoy!

Also want to second this rec. A wholly amazing, wildly imaginative writer -- be sure to catch her other stuff, too. Links to some excellent TDK fic were posted earlier in her journal. Damn, she's good.

Idk why, I just can't get into Bruce/Gordon fic, but I'm sure/think it's likely that it's well-written if it's by Ragdoll.
Thanks for the seconding!
