Review: I'm not one to cry over fics and the fics that can actually make me cry tend to stick in my mind. Non-Linear makes me cry every time.

Despite being a crossover, Dead Like Me is used more like a plot device than a fandom unto its own. Usually, I hate it when crossover stories rely almost completely on one of the fandoms but non-linear is so beautifully written that I didn't care. Ianto is made the Grim Reaper of those who Die By Jack and the story takes off from there.

The dynamic between Jack and Ianto is so heart-breakingly wonderful. They both know that they're going to live forever and they both know that there is a price to be payed for their being together. Ianto has to see all the pain and sorrow that Jack causes firt hand and he handles it remarkably well. Jack on the other hand can't quite bring himself to accept that somebody knows he's going to kill before he does. It bothers him that there really isn't anything he can do to change the course of destiny. Not even for the Doctor.

The relationship between Jack, Ianto, and the Doctor is another thing I love about this fic. Jack and Ianto live long enough to meet most of the Doctors and Miss Winter manages to make each Doctor just different enough to be believable without getting out of character.

All told Non-Linear is a solid fic that can be read again and again.
