Author's Summary: Oz’s summer road trip takes him to a sleepy little town in Nevada-- one that just woke up with a big new problem, and the local sheriff and citizens may have to face a reality they never expected before the closing credits. Spoilers: Summer 2003, Post-"Chosen" but no Season 8 spoilers for Buffy. And no real spoilers for Firefly, aside from the characters' existence.

Review:
Why you must read this fic: Given that a) epic Firefly fics are hard to find and b) good Oz-centered fics are even harder to find, then c) a fusion fic that reinvents the crew of Firefly as the sheriff's office of a small-town in Nevada in the Buffy-verse with Oz as the classic drifter hero is, clearly, a rare and awesome treat that you would be foolish not to read and enjoy!

The story is told from alternating-character view points, which only works well when the author can solidly deliver the characters' voices. This fic brings both great characterization and Joss-style humor (also bar fights, arrogant vampires, and kick-butt crossbow and staking action). While this isn't my most favorite fic in either fandom, it is a very satisfying read and tops my list of excellent crossover fics.
