A Little Princess fics are hard to find and those that contain slash even more so. Finding an incredibly well written slash fic in this fandom might seem impossible, but “Dear Friends and Ruin” proves it’s not so.

The fic tells the story of the relationship between Ralph Crewe, Sara’s father, and Tom Carrisford, also known as the Indian gentleman. The original novel doesn’t give us much information about them, but one of the things we do know is that Captain Crewe loved and trusted his friend dearly, and his feelings were returned in equal measure. Minerva McTabby fills in the blanks, telling an original and moving story of love and obsession that eventually ends up in tragedy. Highly recommended.
