John, being John, manages to get himself addicted to a deadly (natch) ancient sex toy. Rodney, being Rodney, will do *anything* to save him. Two different versions of this story allow you to read it from Rodney or John's POV or you can cut back and forth between the two with the Choose Your Own POV version.

Dude. It's an 'alien device made them want to do it' story. How can you go wrong with that? Especially when you have all sorts of lovely miscommunication angst that you get to see from both sides, thanks to the various POV versions of this story. I also really like the fact that there is no compulsion to have sex with each other -- Crys has somehow managed to portray two characters who think they're having unwanted sex without the slightest hint of dub-con. It's a very interesting dynamic, and one that proves to be remarkably potent. Mix in really great characterizations from John, Rodney, and the rest of Atlantis; some sneaky humor (in the form of Rodney trying to solve John's problem by sending some highly willing women his way); and enough interesting details about life in Atlantis to give the story an enjoyable depth, and you have two great fics for the price of one.

A quick note on the POV: I recommend reading Rodney's POV first, as John's is longer and does a good job of adding to Rodney's story. There's a few dialogue-heavy scenes between John and Rodney that I ended up skimming the second time through, but overall I was impressed by how different the two stories are. The Choose Your Own POV version is simply the previous two versions with conveniently placed hyperlinks so you can jump between them, so I didn't even read it.
