Review:
Warning up front: this is not a happy story. When I call this an apocalypse!fic, I do not mean this in the “surviving in a post-apocalyptic world” sense, I mean it as an “everyone dies” sort of apocalypse.

Now, if you’re still interested after that disclaimer, forget everything I just told you because the coolest part of this story is the slow and chilling buildup. The apocalypse does not befall humanity with a bang; in fact, if you go into the story without warning as I did, you may not even realize it’s an apocalypse!fic until too late (much like the characters) as the situation spirals increasingly out of control.

Synchronik does an amazing job building up the creepiness both in the escalation of the story itself and with the neat little quotations and pictures between chapters. The story also features a fabulous Frank: as lost and scared as everyone else, but undeniably a strong, amazing character. If you’re in the mood for an apocalypse and character death (a particular mood, I realize), you simply cannot give this story a pass.
