Review:
In hockey fandom so many of the stories featuring Kane and Toews seem to portray their characterizations in a very similar manner: Toews is domineering, possessive and serious while Kane is a fun-loving fuck up. Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against those characterizations (I love fanfic simply because authors are free to explore and are only limited by their imagination). However, part of the reason why I adore this verse so much is because it presents a different look at Kane and Toews.

The relationship dynamics and the characterizations still ring true, just through a rather realistic and well-rounded lens. When it comes to a truly touching and romantic story about these two, this is my go-to verse, destined to make me sigh happily each and every time I read it. This is not to say these stories are nothing but teeth rotting fluff, they’re not. They deal with issues such as coming out to family and friends, communication between partners, privacy issues and the reality of playing a game that can, at times, be dangerous. Oxidative does a great job handling these issues while underscoring their actions and decisions with the deep love between Kane and Toews. Several of the stories also contain some scorching sex scenes between the two that are all the more hot simply because of the love that is evident in their interactions.

The stories weren’t necessarily written in chronological order but I’ve linked each part below, in my own personal interpretation of chronological order up until the last three which can take place anytime after the wedding and pre-honeymoon.
