She's still waiting, but she'll be damned if that's all she's going to do.

I am a sucker for post-Aliens AUs/fix-its, and this fic pushes all my buttons. Following their escape from the xenomorphs, Ripley is taking no chances, and makes sure that all of their little crew--Hicks, Bishop, Newt, and maybe even Jonesy--make it through. This is the ending the characters deserved and earned. Each of the survivors makes a contribution; there's a reason that Ripley (with her determination and smarts) and each of the others made it to safety. I love to imagine Ripley and co. continuing on their adventures in space as a crafty, paranoid and vigilant family.
