Review:
This is better known through the fandom as “the story where Tony turns into a kitten” and it is just as amusing as the description suggests. Turned into a kitten by unknown means, Tony has to suffer through such indignities as eating kitten food, getting a collar and being teased by his fellow Avengers. Of course, being Tony, he doesn’t want to give up things like absorbing copious amounts of caffeine (even if he has to *eat* the coffee instead of drinking it) or flying the armor into battle.

While Tony and Steve are not a couple, the feelings between them are certainly there: from the way Steve supports Tony through the whole ordeal (even if he does tease him a bit) to Tony finding comfort in Steve’s presence (and purring when he is petted by him!). At times adorable, hilarious and even poignant (when Tony rationalizes, for instance, not wanting to be left behind despite his new form), “Momentary Paws” is a great Tony/Steve fic.

Kitten! I love this fic, because velithya somehow manages to make Tony getting turned into a kitten a piece of meaningful and occasionally angsty character exploration, and then combines that with surprisingly-plausible-in-comics things like the Avengers fighting giant lobsters, which we can never have too much of *grins*

Also, kitten!Tony is, by pure coincidence, described as looking *exactly* like my cat - who's name is Tony.

*Nods* While some of it is played for laughs, the story does delve into the Tony's psyche in a wonderful way. My favorite line, in fact, is: Tony hears 'kitten', and behind that he hears 'heart condition' and 'recovering alcoholic' and 'been mind-controlled too many times'. I find it heartbreaking.

RealLife!Kitten!Tony sounds adorable :)
