Author's Summary: PWP walks into a bar...
Review:
After a brief second person opener in which you post the first fic in a new fandom, PWP is our fun and irreverent guide to a bar full of tags, and everything is spot on, from the "drinks" served (one-shots are especially popular), to the ever increasing number of bunnies who serve them. The real highlight is PWP's take on the wickedly funny interaction between all the tags you know and love (and maybe some you avoid like the plague).
From the Hurt/Comfort twins to Coffee Shop AU to Bechdel Test Pass (which I had to stop and look up, and I'm glad I did!), everyone's here, or soon will be. It's a who's who of AO3 tags (and the genre tags here at Epic Recs). The author not only knows who'll crash the new fandom party when; ze also gets the way they'll behave once they step up to the bar, from the philosophical to the horny, and from the tags who take their roles über seriously, to those who'll do anything for a laugh.
If you like your meta light, snappy and right on the money, this one-shot's the drink for you.

Andy is working at the Mirror and receives an unexpected phone call. Miranda needs her, again.
Review:
I'm still on my Devil wears Prada kick so here comes another rec in this fandom.
In this well-written fic, Fictorium draw a beautiful picture of Miranda and Andrea and of their evolving relationship. I just love how her characters are getting deeper and deeper all through this story. It's especially the case for Andrea and Miranda but also for Emilie which is one of the true gems of this fic.
The plot is very interesting and really draws the characters together. I just love seeing these sides of Miranda, a bit more vulnerable but still strong and of Andrea, as a competent journalist and sure of herself. The whole cast is well-written and adds to the realization of this story. It's truly a great read.

Andy and Miranda reconnect, and fake bribes are exchanged. Things progress.
Review:
I watched "The devil wears Prada" with a good friend a few days ago... and then spent most of my week end looking for good fics. What can I say? This movie is one of my (many) guilty pleasures. And I just love Meryl Streep and her by-play with Anne Hathaway.
In this serie of fics, Chilly Flame (aka Harriet) explores a universe were Miranda and Andy reconnect after the end of the movie. The evolution of their relationship from ex-coworkers to friends to lovers is very well-done. The action is never rushed and both women stay in character while getting more depth. The secondary cast is also well-written especially Miranda's twins, Doug and Nigel.
I also enjoyed how the author doesn't shy away from the problems arising from Andy and Miranda relationship: their previous working relationship, their age gap, the scandal of two "straight" women getting together, their "coming-out", the opinion of the other people once outed...
It's a very interesting verse with 4 full stories and an interlude than anyone with a slight knowledge of "The devil wears Prada" can enjoy.

After living for years in New York to escape the tragedy that haunts his hometown, Henry returns to Storybrooke to confront his demons and reconcile with his past.
Review:
Every now and again I get in a mood where I want to read fic that guts me and makes my heart hurt, and this story fits the bill perfectly. What I like most about Once Upon a Time are the complicated relationships, none more so than Henry and Regina and how their relationship compares to his relationship with Emma, his other maternal figure. This story diverges from canon and sets up the premise that everything was in Henry’s imagination, that the fairy tale roles he cast people in were how he dealt with his life as a child and now, this is how he reconciles with that past.
I enjoyed the quiet way in which this story is told, it’s muted and different from the vibrancy of the fairy tale world. It makes it a little more sad, sure, but also more realistic. The imagined future for Henry at the end fits in perfectly with this story and characterization. The memories of interactions with Emma are easy to picture as the dialogue and mannerisms are in character. The author also does a terrific job with Regina and her very presence.

She’s a rational person but there are a lot of things in the universe that Sam doesn’t want a scientific explanation for.
Despite the mess I felt the writers made of Sam’s character later on in the series, I’ll probably always have a soft spot for her and this fic is a good example of why. Delving into who she was and how she felt while growing up, I really enjoyed this look into her past and the idea that she always had a sense of wonder in the world around her within herself. Though I would have liked this to be a bit longer so we could have seen a bit of Janet and Sam’s relationship, it’s nonetheless a satisfying short for a character that I still miss seeing every week.

Review: This is a really long series, I've been wanting to rec for a while, but I've been waiting until the series reached a stopping point. Which it finally has. Obviously this series isn't for everybody since it deals with pretty heavy issues. That being said, the first story in the series can be read as a more of less stand alone piece and avoids almost all of the darker portions of the series. So if the story sounds interesting, but you don't want to deal with the darker portions of the series, you can just read A Tidy History of Hapless Queer Avengers.
This whole series started out from the very unusual idea of Hulk and Thor having an affair and the question of what would happen when Bruce Banner figured out what his body had been up to while under the Hulk's control. Unsurprisingly Thor is a little thrown by the fact that despite sharing a body Hulk and Bruce don't share the same feelings towards their tryst.
He makes up for this by insisting the help of the other Avengers to figure out how to court Bruce Banner. The Avengers are understandably both amused and mortified. This in turn affects the team dynamic since it forces their various Queer issues out into the light of day. Also Natasha is a BAMF.
The second story in the series picks up soon after the first one leaves off. Loki has found out that Thor has taken Hulk/Bruce Banner as a lover and is really, really angry about it. So he decides to test the Avengers and Bruce to prove that they don't deserve Thor. This obviously doesn't end well, though everybody manages to survive.
The third and forth stories are the ones where things get much, much darker. Thor is forced to confront the truth about Asgard and all the Asgardian's (Particularly the royal family's) treatment of Loki. Which in turns forces Tony, Steve, and Bucky to face their own boyhood problems. I don't reccomend reading these two unless you are hard to squick.

Five things he doesn't tell you.
Review:
This is a terrific Suits fic that quietly builds a great personal canon for Harvey by having Mike slowly peel back Harvey’s layers and learn more about what makes the man underneath. I loved the way the author takes things slow and brings the reader along with Mike, never trying to hit you over the head with the things Mike learns. The pace of this is just right, it fits with the overall tone. Everything in this fic weaves together to the final section between Mike and Harvey where there is almost no dialogue between the characters yet it gives the reader and Mike still another look at Harvey.
Overall a terrific, mature, well written look beyond the surface of Harvey. When you’re done reading it’s hard not to remember all the little clues the author weaved throughout the story to get the overall picture of Harvey in your mind.
