Canon: Because how often can you legally show people the canon in under 10 minutes: Part 1 & Part 2

Summary: ‘Mikey stops taking his pills the day after Gerard takes all of his at once.
It’s a beginning of sorts.’

Review: I first started reading PlotbunniesInc stories back when they started churning out some absolutely amazing Torchwood fics. With the end of Torchwood I was afraid I'd seen the last of their awesome ficcage, but Angel's From the Neon written by [livejournal.com profile] the9thdoctor  with handolding by [livejournal.com profile] leofuller  definitely made up for the wait.

This 40,00+ word epic is an awsome crash course into the Killjoys universe, happening at some undefined time before the two music videos that started it all. I love the9thDoctor's interpretation of all the characters and the artsy elements in the story really struck a cord with me. If you're like me and can't sit still for more than five minutes without drawing, folding, or ripping something up to make a piece of art, then Gerard's character, Party Poison, will probably strike a similar cord with you.

True to her earlier stories the9thDoctor seals the deal with her amazing ability to build worlds. From Battery City to the Danger Zones, every landscape and building is vibrant and memorable, without being overly weighted down with descriptions. It's all about the little details.

The one thing that I had a real problem with in this story was keeping my images of the characters straight. But if you look the 'Fabulous Killjoys' up it's fairly easy to sort everything out. If you read a lot of My Chemical Romance fics, you probably won't even need to do that.

That being said, I'd suggest this fic as a good read for anybody who likes a good post-apocalyptic/government conspiracy/destined soul mate story, even if you don't usually go for RPS.

Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: Tony/Gibbs
Categories: AU, Angst, Attempted Suicide, Dark, Friendship, Family, Sad Story
Length: Epic (50,000)
Warnings: Mental Illness, Sexual Abuse, Attempted Suicide, Childhood Neglect

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] buffyangel68
Website: BuffyAngel68's WWOMB page

Summary: My version of where Tony might have ended up after the crappy treatment he received in Boxed In. This is a bit dark, but I have to go with the muse and this is what she provided. The thought woke me up crying, as a matter of fact.

Review: After the events of Boxed In Tony is suffering from severe depression and contemplates suicide. Desperate he checks himself into Bethesda Medical Hospital.
What follows is a mixture of who done it and character study. Tony tries to discover what caused him to react so negatively to being 'abandoned' by his team, while Gibbs tries to figure out who pushed Tony over the edge.

This is a well written story that allows for a deeper understanding of this version of Tony's character without getting bogged down in physiological drama. The one weak point is the borderline character bashing of Ziva. It fits well within this universe and the story wouldn't be as complete without it, but if your particularly sensitive to character bashing you probably shouldn't read this story.

Review:
After the events of “Dead Men Don’t Throw Rice” Ray notices that Fraser is a little off. But he figures being dead for a while could spook anyone. It’s not until the next morning when he spots Dief minus Mountie that he starts to worry a little. And when he finds Fraser in a catatonic state half an hour later, he’s more than just a little worried.

I’m a sucker for fics with Ray meeting Fraser Senior, and this is a great one. The plot is interesting and well-executed. The characterizations are great. Really the only thing this story could use is a little more follow through. The beginning could use a little something. The scene in the Great North could be a bit more cohesive. But despite that, this is still a great story, well worth reading.

Review:
Before Ray ever meets Fraser, he meets someone else. Someone who tells Ray he’s not long for the world.

Generally speaking, I’m fond of the humorous stories in Due South fandom. This, though, is a beautifully dark exception.

This is one of the best stories dealing with suicide I’ve come across. The changes to Kowalski’s behavior, no matter how minute, make such a difference to the outcome. The slowly deepening paranoia is simply beautiful.

The best thing about this fic is the juxtaposition of Ray’s suicidal visions and his daydreams of him and Fraser. Ray breaks down before the reader’s eyes.

Sadly, missing is the scene of Ray admitting his problem and beginning to be put back together. But the coda at the end almost makes up for it.
