Summary:
Bertie and Jeeves set out for a walk in Hyde Park one day as Bertie attempts to escape yet another beazel. They end up in an entirely unexpected place. Whether or not they manage to maintain their sanity is an open question.
Review:
I adore this fic (and after discovering it, quickly read all the rest of Mice's Jeeves and Wooster stories, which are also awesome), which takes the cracky sounding premise of Jeeves and Wooster getting transported through time to 2009 Seattle and makes it a thoughtful and intelligent character-driven drama. Saved from drowning and taken in by a well-drawn original female character, Jeeves and Bertie have to make their way in the world with very little resources and cope with a very different world than the one they knew. Dealing with illness and injury from their transition to 2009, and the strange new society they live in, as well as the legality of same-sex relationships, the story draws you in to both their heads with alternating POV sections of Bertie and Jeeves.
If you can accept the premise, and don't mind quirky original characters taking on a large role (I certainly didn't; she felt interesting and unique without being a Mary Sue), then this is the story for you. I loved seeing how both Bertie and Reginald found their way in the world, and how their romance developed. Both feel very much in character, despite finding themselves in situations far removed from those in canon. Altogether an excellent, and very long and satisfying, read.

Summary:
Bertie Wooster's in the supernatural soup! After a swinging party in New York leaves him accidentally affianced to an elven heiress with more than the usual amount of matrimonial influence to throw around, where's a young gent to turn? Why, to old acquaintance Harold 'Mimsy' Dresden, part time investigator, part time stage magician, full time wizard. Together they'll have to scuttle Bertie's engagement and solve the mystery of a missing sword that could completely upend the New York social scene. In their corner they have their manservants--the inimitable Jeeves and the Machiavellian Johnson--as well as a tiny bouncer, a massive bookseller, and a shady informant who likes his payment in dirty novels. Arrayed against them are Mimsy's parole officer and Bertie's fellow suitors. Oh, and the entire might of the Old Families, those inscrutable Unseelie socialites who can't touch iron and won't ever let you out of a debt... or an engagement.
Review:
This fic is a delight. I'm not quite sure how binz and shiplizard managed it, but they combined the tone and time period of Jeeves and Wooster with universe of the Dresden Files, included almost all the characters from both, and it works! It's like cuddling up under a warm blanket with some hot chocolate.
The plot is a combination of most Jeeves and Wooster stories--Bertie trying to escape another engagement--with plot elements from the Dresden Summer Knight novel. All the Dresden characters are re-envisioned into the 1920s setting, and it's one wiz-bang of a rollicking case fic as Harry and Bertie try to extricate themselves from one sticky situation after another and Jeeves and Marcone come to the rescue with clever behind-the-scenes planning.

"Surely, one would think nothing could be more relaxing for a young Wooster than a week spent by the seaside? - Golf and sand-castle building without an aunt in sight!
One may think so, indeed, but the combination of several 'friends' with their own agendas, a theatrical production and the mysterious designs of my very own valet conspired to make that week spent in Spindleythorpe-on-sea one of the most memorable and life-changing of the lot..."
Review:
An influx of Aunts in the metrop. makes Bertie run to the seaside where he ends up being roped into an amateur production of "The Mikado." Between his initial reluctance to appear on stage and the prerequisite accidental engagements, he finally figures out the true nature of his feelings for Jeeves.
The main plot highjinks in "Jeeves and the Artistic Verisimilitude" could have come straight from one of Woodehouse's own stories. Sometimes the plot "mysteries" are a bit *too* obvious, but despite the fact that I often wanted to throttle Bertie for being so oblivious, PurpleFluffyCat managed to capture his voice wonderfully. Add to that a Jeeves at his manipulative best (though perhaps a touch more sentimental than I usually picture him) and a cast of excellently characterized old and original characters and you get a charming Jeeves/Bertie fic.

Author's Summary:
"When Lord Yaxley -- also known as Bertie Wooster -- and his inimitable valet Jeeves stumble upon a THRUSH plot, Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin are sent in to pull them out of trouble. Things don't work out according to plan. They never really do, do they?"
Review:
Years after his exile from England due to the discovery of his sexual orientation, Bertie (now Lord Yaxley) goes to South Africa for a wedding and ends up stumbling across a plot from THRUSH. Napoleon and Illya are sent out to escort him and Jeeves safely to New York and along the way face some truths about themselves.
Though I had only vaguely heard of "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." before reading this fic, I was immediately captivated by its world and main characters. Though the world of MUNCLE is very different from Wodehouse's England frozen in time (where the worst that can happen is an unwanted engagement or stolen silverware) Mice manages to maintain a bit of the whimsical quality of Plum's stories, making Jeeves and Bertie (which have been faced with some very realistic consequences due to their relationship) fit right in. I thoroughly enjoyed the portrayal of all four main characters; while the main action plot was interesting enough to keep me captivated throughout the story, it was really the bonds between the characters (be they romantic or of friendship) which made the fic so memorable to me.
The Yaxley Affair.
