Review:
Rudy goes to a chess competition in Ottawa, but rather than starting to "live up to his potential" as his parents and teachers wish, his true objective is simply to see Mike. After years of seeing his friend very rarely and not acting upon his romantic feelings, Rudy is ready for things to change.

"Checkmate" was my initial choice for Fluff week back in September and it just fits the theme perfectly. Both Rudy and Mike are wonderfully portrayed and bleedingfilth manages to show the things they like about each other and their changing relationship without once venturing into soppy or cheesy territory. All in all, this is a delightful, angst-free fic about two boys exploring their feelings for each other that is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.

Checkmate.
