Review:
There's something to be said for stories that live up to being exactly what you'll hope they'll be and this one, I'm delighted to say, did. Filled with humor, action, and a healthy dose of romance, 'First and Foremost' lives on its characterization. That is to say, the characterization is absolutely brilliant.
Though written in a very romance novel style (happy endings guaranteed), I found myself caught up in Chloe and Jacob's building relationship; waiting for everything to turn out all right and, in some cases, waiting for the other shoe to drop. This isn't a story all about a massive plot; this is a story about the characters, their love for one another, and how unexpected life can be for them. It also doesn't hurt that the peripheral cast (Lois, most especially) is equal parts humorous, pushy in a friendly way, and actually present and accounted for despite the easy out the author could have taken. Fans of romance should definitely take note of this author.
