A big thank you to those who participated in this week's Reader's Recs post. The number of people that walked on the darker side of fandom truly astonished me. And I've discovered just exactly how *not* brave I am. So, it's been an interesting week...

Without further ado, here's this weeks last rec as well as part of my pet project "Sad Stories for Sundays":

Title: All Good Things
Fandom: House M.D.
Pairing: House/Wilson
Categories: angst, hurt/comfort
Length: long (~23,000)
Warnings: character death, cancer, medical liberties

Author on LJ: [livejournal.com profile] rubberbutton
Website: n/a

Author's Summary: Life, death, and a double shot of irony.

Review:
Wilson is diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and House tries his best to play doctor and friend. After some conventional (and some not-so-conventional) treatment, things start to look up and we think Wilson might just pull through. However, reality rarely goes the way we want it to.

A story about courage, love, and making the best of a shitty deal. House's love for Wilson, albeit sometimes abrasive and misunderstood, really shines through all the gloominess. And we finally understand just how deeply they care for each other.

We need to be reminded how fortunate we are occasionally. Go read the story. You will (re)-learn the importance of cherishing what we have. Or don't read it. Either way, whoever you are, wherever you are, take a few minutes/hours to do something nice for a person you love. Tell them you love them and treasure the love that's returned.
