Review:
“Cry Havoc” shows what could have happened with Trip and T’Pol after they slept together in the episode “Harbinger”. The development of their relationship is intertwined with the conclusion of the Xindi mission and the reactions the people around them have to the fact that they are a couple.

What I enjoy most about it is that while we do see T’Pol initially try to push Trip away like she did in canon, we also see her motives: she knows further intimacy will only strengthen the bond that has been forming between them and is frighten by the possible emotional repercussions. This glimpse into her mind makes her a much more sympathetic character and the fact that Trip is willing to try to understand and work with her limitations is certainly a point in his favor. I’m not particularly fond of the epilogue (despite its “happily ever after” feeling), but it doesn’t detract me from enjoying the rest of the story.

Though “Cry Havoc” contains quite a few clichés of Human/Vulcan relationships (including the prerequisite Pon Farr scene), it’s a nice “what-if” story for Trip/T’Pol fans who were disappointed by the way their relationship was handled in canon.
