Review:
Written to mimic the infamous The Ms.Scribe Story: An Unauthorized Fandom Biography by charlottelennox, this is a great epistolary write up of Chuck's story arc through the view of the in-canon Supernatural fandom, with a twist. Following a lack of interest by his publisher to continue putting put books, Chuck turns to fandom for an outlet. Frustrated by his lack of recognition, he begins a campaign to become a BNF. It doesn't work out so well for anyone involved.

A really funny, sometimes heartbreaking, totally fascinating exploration of fandom and Supernatural. The fic is such a roller coaster ride; sometimes I was giggling out loud at Chuck's fumblings through fandom culture, and how truly the story reflects fandom. Later, when the "reality" of the Supernatural world was impinging on characters lives, and the fandom was divided by arguments about trolls, real person fic, the explotation of real tragedies in fanfiction and authorial intent, the story became almost mythic and a fun-house mirror of the television series and of reality. My heart ached for Chuck (and the OFC) when he lost his closest fandom friend, and at how the strife tore apart the people that the love of fandom had brought together.

The fic is intense and marvelous. Well done and so very, very meta.
