Review
:
When Boone and Locke meet before getting on the plane, their destinies change.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a huge fan of Lost. It just never clicked for me the way it did for so many others so when I tuned in it was usually for a certain character or characters. Locke and Boone, I have to say, weren’t among them, so when I first stumbled across the story I shoved it aside and went on my merry way. I shouldn’t have.

Though there are shades of out-of-characterness in this, Boone and Locke seem to fall into each other in the way they did on show; the connection and partnership they had on the island mirrored in a more mundane setting. Their relationship, which is simple and straightforward, is refreshing in a number of ways, especially considering how they met in canon, and even with the drama of their past (and present) still hanging over them, the story manages to unfold in a way that may not be a hundred percent believable but is worthwhile and hopeful for both. Die-hard fans might scoff at this story but I honestly feel like it’s one of the best of the pairing and is a great way to escape from reality for a while.
