The Gate's translation system fails, creating a series of communication problems across the Pegasus Galaxy. Teyla tries to cope with her growing isolation and finds support in an unlikely place.

My first impression on seeing the pairing of this fic was a highly skeptical one, but I believed trinityofone was a skilled enough writer to pull it of and my trust was not misplaced. Perhaps one of the reasons it really worked for me is because it is not a typical love story. Rather than focusing on attraction, there's a growing sense of *connection* between Teyla and Rodney as she searches for someone who understands her or at least knows how to give her what she needs. An unconventional romance for an unconventional couple.
