Review:
The humour of this fic really comes from Jayne - he's just so Jayne. Bored, he decides that it would be practical and time-consuming the learn "the doctorin'" from a bewildered Simon. The characterisation is hilariously perfect, with his actions prompting an unattractive bray of laughter from me every few paragraphs. Simon's exasperation is fun to read as he tries to teach a stubborn Jayne his craft. It's not all stick-in-the-mud Simon though, and that's where a lot of the fun lies. Ultra-serious Simon is present in most fics, but here we get to see a more relaxed doctor who isn't afraid to/doesn't feel guilty about enjoying himself. The two play off each other well, with a one night stand turning into a surprisingly cute and happy relationship.
