Review:
Taking place in an alternative world, where the fae live uneasily alongside humans and war between them is not that far in the past, Kris lives in Los Angeles and is on a mission to gather needed supply, a vial of magic desperately needed by his friends to appease a crime syndicate. However, he's diverted on his quest when asked to save a fey from a fate worse than death, a vile binding spell. He and the fey, Adam, barely escape the villains, and become bound together for a year. Adam is more than he seems, and the plot against Adam is further reaching than a single attack.

Nymphaea has built an intricately detailed world, a mesh between current day and the people of American Idol with magical fae and an urban fantasy twist. It's a long, plotty fic with all the people very in-character while still being very different in this different world. Also, I adore that Kris sings his spells.

Having read this as it was posted as a WIP, I was delighted to find out it's posted all in one place at AO3 and really had a blast reading it again.
