It seemed to Nicholas that there had always been an element of answering-back in the gifts that he and Danny gave each other.

This story is easily one of my favorites in the fandom. It's warm, funny, and filled with the kind of characterization that makes you think the author simply plucked the characters straight from the film. Doris, in particular, had me smiling and the banter between Nicholas, Danny, and the Andys had me laughing out loud. I definitely recommend this to anyone whose a fan of the movie.
