Review:
We're A Storm In Somebody Else's Teacup is a modern!AU wherein everyone still has their powers; it reads a bit like a Heroes-esque reinterpretation of Merlin. Not that it's a crossover or fusion, mind, just that the storyline and the whole "people who have abilities" storyline is reminiscent of Heroes. The plotline is fantastic, the true strength of the story. I found it genuinely exciting and unpredictable albeit a bit darker than the fun little adventure story I was first expecting.
Lady Paperclip does a great job updating the characters to regular modern Londoners. The one difficulty I found was the Arthur/Merlin pairing. Her characterization of the two as individuals was strong but the development of their feelings and relationship was weak in comparison to the rest. However, this minor lapse was more than made up for by the portrayal of Morgana. My goodness, Morgana simply shines in this story. Morgana, in the show and fandom, is a great character who is often misused or underutilized, and in my opinion, it's worth reading this story just for this marvelous Morgana.
