I love Sports Night fic, but the vast majority of it is short and plotless (which always bugged me, because while SN was full of banter, it was also packed with plot). Fortunately the majority of the epics in the fandom are well written, so I'll get a chance to rec them all.
Not Homophobic starts out with a seemingly pointless scene: Dana has Casey worrying that he's homophobic, and Dan reassures him that he's not. A couple of months later, Casey finds out Dan is bi. Because Casey is incapable of letting anything go, because he sucks at communication (ironic, considering what he does for a living), and because he's so out of touch with his feelings that his feelings are sending him updates from deep space, this turns into a Big Issue. It takes a while to resolve the issue, and then Casey starts having Thoughts.
Heh.
Clueless Casey is always fun and Dan is his usual heartbreaking self as he hides all of his fear and uncertainty under a thin veneer of casual humor. The rest of the gang is awesome too, especially Natalie and an exceptionally well done Dana. Also? Drunk Casey is possibly the best thing ever written. Whee!
