Review:
This story is by far the most impressive I've read on the Star Trek RPS fandom. Compared to the Supernatural RPS and the LOTR RPS fandoms, most other RPS pairings are (I'm excluding bandom here because the only musician pairing I read is Kradam) very small fandoms with not a lot of long and well written stories. The Star Trek RPS is no exception there. Only a small portion of the stories I found featuring Zachary Quinto and Chris Pine is worth recommending and this makes the find of this particular story even more worthwhile.

Medea spins an interesting story with the premises of Quinto/Pine bdsm relationship. At first that doesn't sound too tempting to read, most of all because a lot of writers using the powerplay embedded in this paricular genre to create some kind of abusive ambience or the other extreme is to only name one of the characters as submissive and the other one as dominant and then write some fluffy story around them. Only few are able to portray the give and take and the trust needed for the power exchange that is the core of a dominant and submissive pairing. Xanthe and Keira Marcos being two of the authors who show an interesting glimpse of what if universes and settings. Medea explores the growing and developing relationship between the two protagonists and takes us on a journey where one of the characters discovers and learns about the world of bdsm and the other is learning to accept his inner darker emotions and the the possibility that even though he has to potential for cruelty, he can still be loved.

A fair warning to everyone who is a bit squeamish about any of the above mentioned warnings. This is by far the story with the most sadistic and masochistic se scenes I've read so far. If you are not squicked by somthing like that I highly recommend reading the story.
