I love 'what if' stories. It's the fundament of fanfiction and I can't help enjoying them a lot when they are well-written. It's the case for this fic.
I must say I hesitated to rec this one since it's quite short. I would have loved to read more of this verse. But it is one of the best alternate first meetings between Gibbs and DiNozzo I've ever read. And I really enjoyed all the emotions you can feel in such a small work. Crimsonquills (also known as Nix) has a way with words which is nothing short of amazing.
